Visit the Glénan Archipelago

To be seen at the Glénan Archipelago

During your camping holiday in the Bigouden region, don’t miss the Glénan archipelago to the south east of Penmarch. Known as the “Breton Caribbean”, this archipelago located off the coast of Fouesnant is made up of seven islets surrounded by lagoons and transparent water offering sublime white sandy beaches. In addition to these paradisiacal landscapes, the archipelago is home to an endemic flower that is just as superb: the Narcissus of Glénan.

These pretty white flowers are found mainly on the island of Saint Nicolas where they are protected. Team tip: take an all-day trip with family or friends and discover this group of islands in spring, away from the crowds and where nature will be in bloom. Book your crossing at the reception of our 4-star campsite with water park.

Things to do in the Glénan Archipelago

The Glénan archipelago, a must-see in South Finistère, is a real invitation to a change of scenery. During your camping holidays in Penmarch, book your crossing with our reception team and choose a sunny day. On the day, pack a picnic lunch, trainers, sun cream and swimming costumes and set off for the Glénan from Bénodet, Concarneau, Loctudy or Fouesnant. During the high tides, go fishing on foot for a fruitful and delicious catch: Glénan pink clams, periwinkles, abalone, sea urchins, shellfish and crustaceans… Treat yourself to an initiation at the international diving centre or the nautical centre.

Are you a hiker? A wooden path awaits you to walk around the island of Saint-Nicolas.  To make the most of your day on the island, book in advance a guided tour offered by the Tourist Office.  The fauna, flora, navigation, fishing, historical anecdotes… these islands with a taste of paradise will no longer hold any secrets for you.
